The Projector Goes Dark

Anton's classroom projector breaks right before his big presentation, so he improvises with a whiteboard and a marker.
Anton stands at the front of his classroom. Today is his big presentation day. He plugs in the projector and waits.
He practiced his presentation at home last night. His little sister listened and clapped for him. He felt ready for the big day.
The screen stays black. He tries the cable again. Nothing happens.
His teacher checks the projector too. "It's broken," she says. "Sorry, Anton."
Anton looks at his notes. He has ten slides about ocean animals. He takes a deep breath.
He picks up a marker instead. He walks to the whiteboard. He draws a simple picture of a whale.
He writes three big facts under it. "I can still show you my project," he says.
His classmates lean forward. They watch him draw a shark next. He explains each fact out loud.
Anton finishes his last drawing right before the bell. "Great job," his teacher says. "You didn't need slides at all."
Anton smiles and cleans the marker off his hands. He puts his notes back in his bag.
