The Uneven Project Hours

Ximena realizes she has done most of a shared class project alone and asks her partner Dexter for a fairer split next time.
Ximena and Dexter share a project for their history class. They split the work at the start. Ximena takes the research part.
Dexter takes the writing part. The deadline is two weeks away. They agree to meet once a week.
Ximena finishes her research early. She starts helping with the writing too. She reads every chapter alone.
She types most of the final paper herself. Dexter sends a few short paragraphs each week. He seems busy with other classes.
The night before the deadline, Ximena checks her hours. She spends twelve hours on the whole project. Dexter spends about three hours.
She feels frustrated, but she does not want to fight. She decides to talk to him calmly.
"I did almost all the work this time," Ximena says. "Can we talk about the next project?"
Dexter looks a little embarrassed. "You're right," he says. "I didn't do enough. I'm sorry."
"Let's split hours evenly next time," Ximena says. "We can check in twice a week."
Dexter agrees and writes it down. They both sign up for a new project together.
