A Dog, to whom the butcher had thrown a bone, was hurrying home with his prize as fast as he could go.
一只狗从屠夫那里得到了一根骨头，正带着这份战利品飞快地往家赶。
As he crossed a narrow bridge, he looked down and saw himself reflected in the quiet water below. Thinking it was another dog with another bone, he made up his mind to have that one also.
当它经过一座窄桥时，低头看见自己映在下面平静的水面上。它以为那是另一只狗，嘴里也叼着一根骨头，便打定主意要把那根也弄到手。
So he snapped greedily at the reflection. But as he opened his mouth, his own bone fell out, dropped into the water, and was never seen again.
于是它贪婪地朝水中的影子咬去。可它一张嘴，自己嘴里的骨头就掉了下去，落入水中，再也找不回来了。
It is very foolish to be greedy.
贪心是非常愚蠢的。
