The Ant and the Grasshopper

While industrious ants spend the summer storing food, a carefree grasshopper spends his days making music instead — a choice that catches up with him when winter comes.
One bright day in late autumn a family of Ants were bustling about in the warm sunshine, drying out the grain they had stored up during the summer.

A starving Grasshopper, his fiddle under his arm, came up and humbly begged for a bite to eat.
Một chú Châu Chấu đói khát, cây đàn vĩ cầm kẹp dưới cánh tay, tiến đến và khiêm nhường xin một miếng ăn.
"What!" cried the Ants in surprise. "Haven't you stored anything away for the winter? What in the world were you doing all last summer?"
"Gì cơ!" đàn Kiến kêu lên đầy ngạc nhiên. "Cậu không tích trữ gì cho mùa đông sao? Rốt cuộc suốt mùa hè vừa rồi cậu đã làm gì vậy?"
"I didn't have time to store up any food," whined the Grasshopper. "I was so busy making music that before I knew it the summer was gone."
"Tôi không có thời gian để tích trữ thức ăn," chú Châu Chấu rền rĩ. "Tôi bận chơi nhạc đến nỗi chưa kịp nhận ra thì mùa hè đã trôi qua mất rồi."
The Ants shrugged their shoulders in disgust.
Đàn Kiến nhún vai đầy khinh bỉ.
"Making music, were you?" they said. "Very well, now dance!" And they turned their backs on the Grasshopper and went on with their work.
"Chơi nhạc à?" chúng nói. "Được thôi, giờ thì nhảy múa đi!" Rồi chúng quay lưng lại với chú Châu Chấu và tiếp tục công việc của mình.
